About the position
The Auto Installation Technician Apprentice position at LEHR involves training to transform factory stock vehicles into specialized emergency vehicles. Responsibilities
- Removal of factory interior and exterior equipment and parts
- Installation of specialized parts including Lightbars, Red and Blue lights, Push Bumpers, Sirens, Controllers, Speakers, Partitions, Window Bars, Prisoner seats, Gun racks, Car Video, Computers, License Plate Recognition, and more
- Carefully tracking inventory and work orders
- Participating in shop clean-up and safety duties
- Ensure tools and inventory are kept neat and orderly
Requirements
- Familiarity with hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, wrenches, hand drills, etc.
- Physically fit with exceptional manual and physical dexterity to work in, under, and around vehicles
- Basic knowledge or previous experience of mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of vehicles preferred (12V system)
- Ability to work independently while in a team environment
- Desire to learn a new trade and be a part of a positive working culture and team
