About the position

The Auto Salter Operator is responsible for overseeing the entire Auto Salting process, including salt hopper operation and barrel filling. This role emphasizes maintaining a safe work environment while adhering to quality standards. The operator will perform various tasks related to the operation, startup, shutdown, and cleaning of the auto salter, ensuring proper ingredient usage and compliance with production procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Perform startup, operation, shutdown, and CIP of the auto salter.
  • Ensure proper recipes, ingredient amounts, and parameters are in place for the auto salter process.
  • Monitor enzyme levels and ensure compliance with LOL Halal status.
  • Coordinate with vat deck operators and communicate with DMC operators, TQ Leaders, and Whey department for production procedures.
  • Generate accurate make records and chart documentation.
  • Follow sanitation and quality SOPs to ensure equipment cleanliness.
  • Perform and maintain metal detector tests.
  • Ensure clean carriers, extenders, press plates, and rings are used in the process.
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement environment through LEAN Manufacturing practices.
  • Participate in the 5S program for a safe and organized work environment.
  • Complete all department paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and LQMS requirements.
  • Complete a minimum of one behavioral observation (BOS) per month to support safety culture.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of machine operations and overall production process.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Prior high speed, high tech manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to contribute in a team work environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math equations.
  • Proficient in utilizing computers and software programs.
  • Effective communication skills to ensure product flow.
  • Problem-solving skills and creative thinking abilities.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Willingness to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to meet physical demands as outlined in the Physical Demands Analysis (PDA).
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to changes in processes.
  • Ability to analyze data from multiple sources and draw conclusions.
  • Maintain prompt and regular job attendance.
  • Ability to read and write effectively in English.
