About the position

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Design Engineer to develop and implement design solutions for our machine guarding and warehouse partitioning projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in data collection and analysis, design development, and interaction with clients and vendors. This role requires occasional travel to ensure project requirements are fully understood and met.

Responsibilities

• Travel up to 25% of the time to interact with clients and gather project requirements.
• Collect and analyze data to define design criteria and develop innovative solutions.
• Prepare and assist with proposals and bids, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
• Create detailed design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
• Collaborate with vendors and contractors to ensure project specifications are met.
• Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to designs as needed.
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams and clients.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation and reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in design engineering, preferably within manufacturing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other design software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

• 3-5 years of experience with AutoCAD or Solidworks.
• Background in material handling, robotics, or manufacturing environment.
• Experience assisting with installation bids, quotes, and proposals.
• Strong communication skills, client and vendor facing.
• Ability to learn software and problem-solve with examples from a manufacturing background.
