The Automated Software Tester position in Tysons, VA, is a critical role within the National Intelligence Community (NIC) Business Unit, specifically in the USG Mission and Information Technology Division. The selected candidate will join an integrated team responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining a federated search and discovery software system that integrates financial data from various providers. This role is essential for ensuring the quality and functionality of applications that will operate within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) development environment. The work will follow an Agile Scrum methodology, allowing for iterative development and continuous improvement based on user requirements. In this position, the Software Quality Assurance Specialist/Application Tester will be tasked with creating and maintaining an automated test environment in AWS using tools such as Selenium. The role involves rigorous testing of developed features and enhancements for web applications, APIs, and web services. The candidate will also utilize a tracking system to monitor all tasks and user stories, ensuring that all aspects of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) are adhered to. This position requires a proactive approach to quality assurance, with a focus on delivering mission excellence on programs of national importance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in automated testing processes, particularly with Selenium and SoapUI, and will hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business, Information Management Systems, or a related field is required, although relevant experience may substitute for formal education. The candidate should have at least five years of experience working in an Agile Scrum team environment, particularly within a cloud environment like AWS, and should be adept at performing requirements analysis and utilizing scripting languages such as Java and JavaScript. Familiarity with team collaboration tools like Confluence and issue tracking applications such as Jira is also essential.
