About the position
The Automated Test Equipment Technician at GE Appliances is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic, electrical, and network systems, ensuring the functionality and reliability of testing equipment. This role involves preventive maintenance, providing technical support to assembly and repair personnel, and collaborating with engineering teams for equipment modifications and audits. The technician will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic, electrical, and network systems.
- Preventive maintenance of testing equipment to ensure maximum uptime.
- Act as a technical resource for operations assembly and repair personnel.
- Advise management and/or EHS of any safety or ergonomic implications found during job duties.
- Collaborate with engineering for product test equipment changes.
- Provide support to the engineering team during audits/visits from agencies like BEAB and UL.
- Develop ideas and solutions to address test system issues.
Requirements
- Experience in pneumatic, electrical, and networking diagnostics/repair.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- 3 years of recent experience in mechanical, electrical, and networking diagnostics.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Continuous improvement mindset with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Associate's degree in Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent technical degree/experience.
