About the position

The Automatic Pressroom Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining automatic presses and related equipment in the Press Room at Stanley Black and Decker's facility in Willard, Ohio. This role involves ensuring production activities are completed efficiently and safely while adhering to quality standards and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Complete production activities in the Press Room.
• Operate automatic presses, cranes, lift trucks, and auxiliary equipment.
• Adjust feeding and handling equipment such as coil cradles and coil leveling.
• Perform changeover jobs including setup of blanking dies, progressive dies, and transfer dies in a press.
• Conduct visual inspections of in-process and finished parts.
• Use appropriate tools and fixtures to check parts for quality.
• Operate other production equipment as needed based on departmental requirements.
• Stack parts as needed after production.
• Ensure safe operation of presses, lift trucks, and similar equipment.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures as outlined by SBD Willard.
• Conduct material handling tasks as required.
• Adhere to ISO standards and procedures to meet quality standards.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional departmental tasks as assigned by the Stamping Supervisor or Group Leader.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience with die setting is preferred.
• Ability to pass all required certifications for the position.
• Must have a valid lift truck operator's license or complete lift truck training successfully.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn to operate an automatic press and setup dies.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Availability to work overtime as needed.
