About the position

The Controls and Automation Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the production equipment, computer systems, software, hardware, and networks at the Sikeston site. This position is integral to troubleshooting and implementing changes, driving to the root cause of issues, and identifying and executing continuous improvement projects. The engineer will be involved in a wide range of activities, from robotics to general automation, networking, and vision systems, ensuring that the production processes run smoothly and efficiently. In this role, you will be a leader in fostering a safety culture and will actively participate in Sikeston projects that support software, hardware, automation, and network upgrades. Your responsibilities will include PLC programming, working with Servos, VFDs, and hardware, with a significant focus on Rockwell Automation systems, which comprise 95% of the factory's operations. You will collaborate with the Engineering and Focused Improvement Teams to implement new digital tools, utilizing technologies such as SQL, DFOS, BuildApp, Power Apps, and Power BI. Additionally, you will support all network upgrade activities in Sikeston, attend weekly calls, and provide updates to stakeholders. This position requires a proactive approach, resourcefulness, and strong communication skills, as you will be working in a high-output environment and balancing multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities

  • Support site production equipment, computer systems, software, hardware, and networks.
  • Troubleshoot and implement changes to production systems.
  • Drive to root cause of issues and implement continuous improvement projects.
  • Work on PLC programming, Servos, VFD, and hardware.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Focused Improvement Teams to implement new digital tools.
  • Support network upgrade activities and provide weekly updates to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of industrial experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical controls and automation systems.
  • Proficient with MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, SQL Database, and Networking.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and highly motivated with good communication skills.
  • Strong fundamental knowledge of control and electrical system design in automated industrial designs.
  • Critical thinking with exceptional problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
