About the position

The Automation Applications Engineer is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation systems, particularly focusing on machine and computer vision technologies. This role requires direct collaboration with clients to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of automated solutions. The engineer will also provide support to the Automation Engineering team, ensuring that all systems are functioning correctly and efficiently. In terms of installation and configuration, the engineer will engage in systems analysis procedures, consulting with users to determine the necessary hardware, software, or system-functional specifications. This includes the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing, or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes based on user or system design specifications. The engineer will install and configure automation systems, emphasizing machine vision technologies and integration with platforms like AWS Machine Learning. The role also demands expertise in machine vision and machine learning. The engineer will leverage their knowledge of machine vision systems to enhance automation capabilities, implementing and optimizing machine vision algorithms for quality inspection and process control. Experience in AWS Machine Learning or similar environments is essential to enhance automation intelligence. Maintenance and repair are critical components of this position. The engineer will conduct regular maintenance checks on automation equipment, including machine vision and machine learning components, to ensure functionality and identify potential issues. They will respond promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnose problems, and perform necessary repairs. Testing and quality assurance are also key responsibilities. The engineer will perform thorough testing of automation systems, focusing on machine vision accuracy, machine learning model performance, and overall system efficiency. They will implement quality assurance measures to guarantee reliable and efficient system performance. Client interaction is a significant aspect of the role, as the engineer will need to understand client requirements regarding automation, machine vision, and machine learning, providing necessary technical support. Additionally, maintaining accurate documentation of automation installations, configurations, machine vision settings, and machine learning models is crucial. The engineer will create detailed reports on troubleshooting procedures and resolutions. Safety compliance is paramount, and the engineer must adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during installation, maintenance, and repair activities, ensuring that all work meets industry safety standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in automation, machine vision, or machine learning.
  • Experience with Python in a Linux environment.
  • Industrial Machine Vision or Computer Vision experience.
  • Familiarity with machine learning frameworks.
  • Understanding of data structures, data modeling, and software architecture.
  • Proficiency in PLCs and HMIs.
  • Experience in commissioning intelligent devices on Fieldbus networks (Ethernet I/P, ProfiNet, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $85,000.00 to $120,000.00 annually.
