GEMU is seeking a dedicated Automation and Instrumentation Engineer to provide top-notch product support and enhance customer experiences with our products. This role involves providing expert product support to internal and external stakeholders, handling customer inquiries, specifications, and troubleshooting related to the Automation and Instrumentation product line. The engineer will need to understand and explain technical concepts and product documentation such as datasheets, operating manuals, and work instructions to a diverse base of individuals. The engineer will also specify GEMU products based on customer specifications and industry standards, while staying informed of industry standards and developments. Additionally, the role requires cross-referencing competitor's products to GEMU products, providing expert opinions on features and benefits of each. Collaboration with clients and cross-functional internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Automation and Instrumentation products is essential. The engineer will also collaborate with the global GEMU Group to convey customer feedback and facilitate future development and improvements of the product line. Furthermore, the engineer will assist in producing product literature, PowerPoint presentations, and other materials as needed to support troubleshooting and training. Promoting product knowledge through the development of comprehensive training programs for clients and colleagues is also a key responsibility. Travel to client sites may be required to provide support, training, and troubleshooting, and all activities must be documented using CRM software.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering and automation concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple to complex work instructions in English.
  • Ability to successfully communicate with a diverse personnel base.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Automation and Instrumentation concepts and products such as position indicators, solenoids, electropneumatic positioners, etc.
  • Knowledge of automation systems and concepts such as PLC, DCS, SCADA, etc.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Automation languages and communication such as ASi, IO-Link, DeviceNet, etc.
  • Knowledge of the Industrial Automation Industry, Pharmaceutical Industry, or relevant related fields.
