About the position

We are seeking a Project Manager to help lead Automation Control projects in the Pleasanton area. We are an independent building automation systems provider specializing in industrial manufacturing controls, and we are looking to expand our footprint in the market. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in securing and managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all projects meet financial goals and customer expectations. This position requires a proactive approach to project management, with a focus on leading project teams, coordinating resources, and overseeing daily activities to deliver successful project outcomes. In this role, the Project Manager will be responsible for client relations, which includes leading meetings, developing contracts, and building strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. Project planning is a key responsibility, where the Project Manager will create and update project plans to ensure timely and cost-effective completion. This includes handling project estimates, proposals, and contracts to align with project goals. Financial management is another critical aspect of this position. The Project Manager will ensure that projects are profitable by managing costs, cash flow, and billing, while keeping management informed of the financial status. Additionally, the Project Manager will work closely with the engineering team to design and configure systems, overseeing project construction to meet quality and safety standards. Material management will also be part of the role, where the Project Manager will handle the procurement of materials, monitor usage, and manage inventory efficiently. Problem-solving skills are essential, as the Project Manager will need to identify and address potential issues, seek opportunities for improvement, and manage change orders effectively. Team collaboration is vital, as the Project Manager will support ongoing projects, coordinate service transitions, and maintain a strong office presence. Finally, adherence to safety standards and ensuring compliance throughout the project is a non-negotiable aspect of this role.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 10+ years of experience, or an Associate's degree with equivalent experience.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and consult with others as needed.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and basic ALC programming.
  • Proven ability to develop new business and maintain integrity in all dealings.
