About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation & Controls Engineer to join our team in Salina, KS. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food/beverage manufacturing industry and possess strong knowledge of PLC (Allen Bradley), HMI, SCADA, and Schematics. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation and control systems to increase efficiency and optimize production processes. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are running smoothly and troubleshoot any issues that arise. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and growing company in the food industry.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for food manufacturing processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design specifications
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics and control system documentation
  • Install, commission, and test control systems
  • Perform regular maintenance and calibrations on control systems
  • Train production and maintenance teams on proper use and maintenance of control systems
  • Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and implement new technologies to improve processes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (ABET accredited program is a huge plus)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the food and beverage industry
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting, preferably with Allen Bradley systems
  • Experience with HMI, SCADA, VFDs, Servo, P&ID, CAD, and other programming languages
  • Familiarity with industrial robotics systems (Fanuc and ABB experience is a plus)
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and controls, low voltage, and medium voltage (480VAC and below)
