About the position

As an Automation Controls Engineer at our fast-growing Automation Consulting Firm, you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing the production processes of our clients, significantly enhancing their manufacturing productivity. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and effective communication skills, as you will be responsible for leading design reviews, documenting design calculations, and creating comprehensive construction, demolition, and installation instructions. Your ability to communicate project details clearly with both the team and customers is essential to ensure that all work is completed accurately and on time. In this role, you will develop detailed drawings that encompass various aspects of automation projects, including demolition, installation, panel layouts, conduit setups, wire schedules, power loads, and panel heat calculations. Your expertise in 480 VAC power distribution, variable frequency drives, servo drives, and PLCs will be crucial in delivering top-quality work. Additionally, your knowledge of the National Electric Code will guide you in wire sizing, de-rating, conduit sizing, and installation requirements, ensuring compliance and safety in all projects. Responsibilities

  • Communicate project details clearly with the team and customers for accurate, top-quality work on time.
  • Lead design reviews with clients based on outlined scope.
  • Document all design calculations.
  • Create complete construction, demolition, and installation instructions.
  • Develop detailed drawings for demolition, installation, panel layouts, conduit setups, wire schedules, power loads, and panel heat calculations.

Requirements

  • Experience with 480 VAC power distribution.
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives and servo drives.
  • Proficiency in PLCs and I/O systems, distributed control systems.
  • Expertise in National Electric Code, including wire sizing and de-rating, conduit sizing, and installation requirements.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD.
