About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automation Controls Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative engineering team. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems and control strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure optimal system performance. This role will require a deep understanding of electrical control panels, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that all automated systems and control strategies are in compliance with industry standards and regulations, while also providing training and technical support to operational staff on these systems. Staying current with the latest trends and advancements in automation technology and control engineering is also a critical aspect of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement automation systems and control strategies to improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical control panels, automated systems, and related equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand process needs and develop automation solutions.
  • Ensure all automated systems and control strategies are in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Create and maintain documentation for all automated systems and control strategies, including system specifications, schematics, and operational manuals.
  • Provide training and technical support to operational staff on automated systems and control strategies.
  • Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in automation technology and control engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in automation controls engineering, with a strong focus on electrical control panels.
  • Proficiency in programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical control systems, machine automation, and process control systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to automation controls.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills.
