About the position

The Automation Controls Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing automation systems and products using CAD and other design tools. This role is crucial in ensuring that the products meet engineering standards and specifications, contributing to the company's growth in the manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Create drawings, checking material dimensions and relationships to other parts and the entire structure or project on the drawing.
• Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards.
• Verify dimensional accuracy of structural layouts and installations.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, vendors, and engineering to ensure documentation meets specifications.
• Work with the sales team and customers on design and applications.
• Construct drawings from concepts or sketches.
• Review and critique proposed engineering standards, policies, or details.
• Act as project manager.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a two or four year degree preferred with major course work in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
• Knowledge of PLC programming.
• Knowledge of electrical circuits.
• Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry.
• Excellent computer knowledge and skills with drafting programs.
• Excellent communication skills required.
• Detail oriented with a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement in all areas.
• Safety minded and practices shop safety.
• Self-motivated to work independently.
