About the position

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer Project Engineer with a strong background in the design of automation controls using Rockwell Allen-Bradley systems. The ideal candidate will lead our electrical control design engineering efforts for our custom machine designs. This is a long-term in-house position, replacing a recently retired employee. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of electrical control systems for our custom machinery, primarily using Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs and HMI interfaces. This role requires a deep understanding of the design process, from specification through to configuration, including the selection of appropriate enclosures, transformers, fuses, and other control system components. In this position, you will spearhead the creation of new control systems, enhancing our product offerings and addressing customer requirements. You will produce detailed electrical drawings, process engineering change orders (ECOs), and generate accurate bills of materials (BOMs). Additionally, you will develop custom PLC/HMI software, ensuring systems meet the highest standards of electrical performance and safety. As a leader, you will manage and mentor junior electrical engineers and collaborate with external contractors and vendors to meet project objectives. Providing technical oversight throughout the fabrication and construction phases will be crucial to resolve any arising issues. You will also execute on-floor equipment tests and install/test PLC/HMI software, crafting comprehensive support documentation, including operator and maintenance manuals. Occasional travel to customer sites may be required to ensure proper system integration and customer satisfaction.
