About the position

The position involves working on various projects related to rolling mill automation in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on analyzing trends, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring continuous operation and improvement of electrical and electronic systems. Responsibilities

  • Modify PLCs to support operations processes.
  • Modify HMI to support operations processes.
  • Oversee electrical products, equipment, and systems including design, implementation, maintenance, and safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems related to automation, communication, or HMI issues.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance personnel to ensure continuous operation and improvement of equipment and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, or 10 years of manufacturing experience programming PLCs in lieu of education.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC controls, motors, and drives.
  • Prior experience with programming PLCs and developing ladder logic on Rockwell and Siemens S7-1516.
  • Solid understanding of PLC communication protocols (Profibus and Profinet preferred).
  • Ability to use MS Office and data acquisition software (IBA/PDA preferred).

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with GE innovation series controllers, Toshiba NV controllers, RX3i controllers, GE Genius Block I/O networks, Siemens S7/TIA, and Allen Bradley PLCs.
  • Experience with HMI programming on GE Cimplicity, Ignition, WIN CC, and Rockwell Automation.
  • Electrical and network experience with IBA Analytical tools, computer networking, and Cisco switching/router configuration.
