About the position

The Product Engineer - Process Instrumentation will leverage their product knowledge and experience to specify, analyze, test, and troubleshoot new products for the industrial automation market. This role involves partnering with a Product Manager to manage and grow the product line, focusing on robotics, while working in a family-friendly culture that allows for remote work options and emphasizes creativity and ownership in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage experience and product knowledge to select and assist in the development of the best products to grow the product line and meet customers' needs.
  • Manage product ownership throughout the product life cycle.
  • Evaluate and test new products and technologies.
  • Support product through new product introductions, documentation, training, and second-tier backline support during normal business hours.
  • Conduct life-cycle projects to improve product quality or lower product cost.
  • Evaluate suppliers including product offering, technology roadmap, and support capabilities.
  • Engage in some self-directed domestic and international travel as required.

Requirements

  • Education in a technical discipline, preferably a BS in mechatronics, mechanical or electrical engineering, or at least 10 years of related experience.
  • 6 years of experience (10 years preferred) in the industrial control & automation market or OEM/manufacturing of process instrumentation products.
  • Working knowledge of process sensors (pressure, temperature, flow, level, etc.) and experience with temperature/process controls and signal conditioners product application.
  • Experience with industrial control products such as PLCs, HMIs, process instrumentation, sensors, safety, power products, or signaling.
  • Familiarity with agency approvals (UL, CSA, CE, RoHS, etc.).
  • Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
  • Strong self-confidence, organizational skills, time management skills, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in related markets such as building automation and medical equipment.
