About the position

The Automation Database Developer at Interactive Brokers is a hybrid role focused on automating database operations and enhancing performance monitoring. The position requires a seasoned professional with Oracle DBA experience who can drive projects to completion while adhering to the company's standards and procedures. The role emphasizes collaboration within the global Database Administration team to support all database operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Automate database deployments and monitoring key performance indicators.
  • Work on assigned projects and drive them to completion according to current standards and procedures.
  • Document steps taken and methods utilized in any project.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Perl, Python, and shell scripting skills with a focus on automation.
  • Exposure to Oracle 19c or higher on Linux.
  • Experience with SQL and PL/SQL.
  • Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager, supporting OEM and developing automation and monitoring processes within OEM.
  • Experience with Oracle RAC, Oracle ASM, and Oracle Multitenant is a plus.
  • Experience with Oracle patching and database upgrade processes, Grid Infrastructure, and RAC patching orchestration is a plus.
  • Experience with query tuning methodologies.
  • Exposure to supporting Oracle or other DB platforms in AWS RDS and/or EC2, along with database virtualization is a plus.
  • Very large database exposure is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ansible experience is a plus.
  • Java experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Confluence and Jira.
