About the position

The Automation Engineer will join the Data Analytics and Automation team at U.S. Bank, focusing on developing and delivering data analytics and automation solutions for the Electronic Payment Systems organization. This role is crucial for enhancing team development and providing technical and operational solutions, with responsibilities including testing, creating, implementing, and supporting robotic process and desktop automations.

Responsibilities

  • Test, create, implement, and support robotics process and desktop automations.
  • Perform design, scripting, testing, implementing, maintaining, and modifying automations of moderate complexity.
  • Create comprehensive test plans and test cases; define automation data needs across systems.
  • Create and execute performance tests to ensure expected automation performance levels are achieved.
  • Investigate, analyze, and resolve technical problems, sometimes leading clients and technical staff in these efforts.
  • Write documentation describing automation capabilities and operating procedures.
  • Estimate and define time tables and project tasks; analyze and estimate cost and time.
  • Conduct analysis of organizational needs for automation solutions; participate in feasibility assessments of new automation opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Five to six years of relevant work experience with programming concepts, development logic, or automating simple to medium complexity processes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of data and process modeling, system and application testing, software development life cycle, application design and architecture.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft PowerApps, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Pages, including DAX code.
  • Knowledge of Java VBA languages, JavaScript, Java, C++, Python, SQL, NoSQL, VB or other configuration/scripting type technology.
  • Experience with Azure, AWS or other cloud providers.
  • Experience with Robotics and/or Intelligent Automation software (e.g., Automation Anywhere, Work Fusion, Blue Prism, UI Path, NICE NEVA).
  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning.
