About the position

The Automation Engineer Consultant will work with a direct financial industry client, focusing on platform automation. This hybrid role requires the consultant to be onsite two days a week in midtown Manhattan, NYC, and is open only to local candidates from NY, NJ, or CT. The position demands a strong background in automation tools and practices, particularly in a DevOps environment.

Responsibilities

• Spearhead implementations independently while also collaborating as a team member.
• Investigate issues and respond effectively to customer inquiries.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy applications end-to-end.
• Build automation processes and implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
• Utilize Docker, Gitlab, Kubernetes, and various cloud technologies for automation.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in Terraform, Ansible, DevOps, and Containers.
• Proficiency in Docker, Gitlab, Kubernetes, and Jenkins.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.
• In-depth knowledge of programming across diverse operating systems and platforms.
• Experience in Linux/UNIX system administration.
• Familiarity with project tracking software, such as Jira.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in relevant technologies are considered a huge plus.
