About the position

The Automation Engineer role at Ericsson is an entry-level position focused on automating activities within the Support and Repair Software Delivery scope. The engineer will ensure that all automations are efficient and functional, meeting client expectations. This role involves diagnosing software issues, contributing to design specifications, and providing real-time support to software delivery engineers. The position emphasizes the importance of following established processes and maintaining compliance with delivery models.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, program, and test automation systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify bugs within production code.
  • Contribute in creating high level and low level design specifications along with other documents.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering and gain sign-offs, verifying that use cases accurately reflect business needs.
  • Contribute in automating existing and future developments and explore new possibilities in automation and tools.
  • Understand and implement 'automation delivery' processes while ensuring end-to-end user accepted solutions.
  • Provide real-time support resolution to internal software delivery engineers in effort to resolve issues prior to end of maintenance windows.
  • Have ownership of Upgrade Support tickets in accordance with deliverable agreements, through issue handling, until solved.
  • Follow SW delivery processes, delivery models and strategy, staying compliant with the latest agreed ways of working.

Requirements

  • Recent graduate of a bachelor's degree in engineering with 0-2 years of experience.
  • Programming knowledge in Python and Java.
  • Experience with automation using Python.
  • Experience with automation using Ansible.
  • Knowledge of automation via orchestration.
  • Familiarity with software project management.
  • Computer skills in algorithm and scripting.
  • Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Knowledge of application lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with Linux.
  • Understanding of lean and agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of databases.
  • Experience with CLI, GUI, O and M, configuration, and troubleshooting.
