About the position

In this role, you will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting distributed intake channels, web services, and the Enterprise orchestration platform. You will provide consulting services to clients across the Enterprise, requiring a deep understanding of complex cross-discipline and cross-technology concepts and processes. Your primary focus will be on designing, building, testing, and updating reusable automations, web applications, and workflow services using Micro Focus Operations Orchestration, PHP, .NET, web services, and other programming languages. You will partner with various technology teams to identify and reengineer processes as they onboard to the orchestration or migrate to web applications. Your role will involve driving industry standards for continuous process improvements and designing highly available automation using orchestration platforms, preferably Micro Focus Operations Orchestration. This will depend on server, storage, database, and network technologies, all in accordance with Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU) standards. You will also be tasked with advancing the orchestration platform through evaluation, engineering, and adopting emerging technologies and practices in the industry. As a leader in this position, you will automate and orchestrate repeatable administration tasks, making necessary improvements to increase reliability and reusability. You will establish defined invocation channels that enable the order and initiation of orchestrated services, ensuring standardization, traceability, and reporting. Additionally, you will advocate for the concepts and realization of web applications and the orchestration platform within the NFCU environment, increasing readiness and adoption across technology stacks and teams. Developing thorough technical documentation, including diagrams, will also be a key responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement highly available automation using orchestration platforms, preferably Micro Focus Operations Orchestration, based on server, storage, database, and network technologies in accordance with NFCU standards.
  • Advance the orchestration platform through evaluation, engineering, and adopting emerging technologies and practices in the industry.
  • Lead efforts to automate and orchestrate repeatable administration tasks, making necessary improvements to increase reliability and reusability.
  • Establish defined invocation channels that enable the order and initiation of orchestrated services, ensuring standardization, traceability, and reporting.
  • Advocate for the concepts and realization of web applications and the orchestration platform within the NFCU environment, increasing readiness and adoption across technology stacks and teams.
  • Develop thorough technical documentation including diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of training, education, and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of front-end technologies, such as Javascript, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • Knowledge of object-oriented PHP programming.
  • Experience in development and testing of web applications.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, PHP, Java, PowerShell/PowerCLI, Perl, VBScript, Rexx, Windows batch scripting, web services, and/or web APIs.
  • Experience working with Windows and Linux/Unix platforms.
  • Experience with database administration (Oracle, DB2, and/or SQL Server).
  • Experience performing data analysis.
  • Demonstrated skill in understanding and applying technical information to automation opportunities and presenting the process in terms that the customer understands.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid understanding of ITIL principles, practices, and processes in providing and managing the delivery of a large scale, Enterprise-wide service.
  • Experience with PHP 8+ and user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
  • Experience with SQL Query tools.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory (LDAP technologies).
  • Knowledge of Java / JVM technologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft IIS and managing a clustered environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux - Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Understanding of storage technologies (SAN, NAS, Replication, and Backup).
  • Knowledge of networking technologies - Layer 2/Layer 3 switching and routing, F5, GSLB, Load Balancers.
  • Working knowledge of Navy Federal business processes and applications.
