About the position

The Automation Engineer II at Saint-Gobain will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, focusing on production and processing methods. This position aims to enhance process control and reduce variations through engineering fundamentals and advanced tools. The engineer will support strategic initiatives, manage automation projects, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and implementation of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects.
  • Provide technical support and maintenance for electrical, control, and automation equipment.
  • Implement actions to prevent breakdowns and obsolescence of equipment.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of electrical and automation systems.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and reliability standards in automation systems.
  • Collect and analyze data from production processes to monitor equipment performance.
  • Manage implementation of electrical and automation improvement projects.
  • Coordinate contractor activities for project execution.
  • Document all projects and update equipment according to WCM standards.
  • Interface with corporate IT and local IT infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of applied professional experience in electrical process control and automation.
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
  • Experience with integrated automation and information systems in manufacturing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to provide leadership and innovation at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Electrical CAD software.
  • In-depth knowledge of low and medium voltage installations, HMIs, and PLCs.
