About the position

The Automation Engineer (SDET) role focuses on developing and executing automated testing strategies for web applications, APIs, and backend systems. The position requires extensive experience in automation testing, particularly with Selenium and related technologies, and emphasizes API testing. The engineer will collaborate with the DevOps Scrum Team to ensure quality assurance processes are integrated into the development lifecycle, utilizing cloud technologies and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

  • Planning the testing strategies and methods for projects, customizing testing as agreed by the SCRUM Team.
  • Creating reusable Testing User Stories and estimates.
  • Implementing, executing, and capturing testing results, tracking and entering test defects, and following the documented IT SDLC Agile process.
  • Providing metrics and daily status on testing progress, ensuring all automated reports used are accurate.
  • Creating, managing, and executing automation scripts.
  • Defining and managing the test data required for testing.
  • Coordinating and configuring the test environment and conducting defect root cause analysis related to the Test Environment.
  • Collaborating closely with DevOps Scrum Team members.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of hands-on automation testing experience using Selenium and equivalent technologies.
  • Strong programming experience in Java, JavaScript, or VB Script.
  • Experience in designing and developing scalable, reliable, and data-driven automation test scripts for web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
  • Primary focus on API testing with experience in various automation libraries and tools.
  • Experience in cloud technologies and CI/CD using Jenkins, with a preference for AWS cloud.
  • Experience in cross-web browser testing.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time-management and task/effort estimation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with accessibility testing.
  • Deep SQL knowledge.
  • Testing framework development experience based on TestNG.
  • Mobile/Appium testing experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Rest Assured or equivalent API testing libraries.
