About the position

Verista is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join their team, focusing on programming automated equipment in the life sciences sector. The role involves providing technical support during the commissioning and qualification phases of various automation systems, particularly for Syringe Tub Handling platforms. The engineer will also be responsible for knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and supporting site engineering initiatives, contributing to the overall mission of improving lives through innovative solutions in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Provide automation/mechanical technical support for troubleshooting during the commissioning and qualification phase.
  • Perform and support the execution of commissioning and qualification testing on the equipment.
  • Provide technical support for integration of the line with site automation systems and other ancillary equipment (e.g., MES).
  • Perform source code review and code management for associated manufacturing equipment.
  • Update technical design documentation with respect to project delivery change management processes.
  • Support site engineering initiatives including training/development of site staff, drafting technical procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Serve as a key resource to support site engineering groups.
  • Communicate continuous improvement solutions to respective GR platform stewards and gain support for ideas on issue resolution.
  • Act as a hands-on resource to help troubleshoot issues and be the primary point of contact for GR personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience in pharmaceutical parenteral manufacturing.
  • Experience working with and programming automated equipment including vision systems, high-speed mechanical assembly lines, and Fanuc robotics.
  • Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing, particularly high-speed device assembly and packaging manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of parenteral manufacturing equipment (filling/inspection lines), Automated Storage Retrieval Systems (ASRS), and Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV).
  • Ability to program Rockwell PLC, FactoryTalk HMI/SCADA systems with hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience working hands-on with mechanical assembly machines, pneumatics, instrumentation, and electrical drawings.
  • Strong communication skills for remote meetings with Global Robotics personnel.
