About the position

The Automation Engineer position at TURBOCAM involves designing, programming, simulating, and testing automated machinery and processes to meet specific manufacturing and facility requirements. The role focuses on control systems, particularly building controls, and requires collaboration with internal customers to define project scopes, generate quotes, and provide engineering support for system upgrades and new work.

Responsibilities

  • Design, program, simulate, and test automated machinery and processes.
  • Work with internal customers to generate quotes and business cases for potential work.
  • Define project scope and key metrics for new work and system upgrades.
  • Identify action items required to complete work according to agreed-upon scope, metrics, timeline, and cost.
  • Provide engineering support for the design of new work and system upgrades, including mechanical, electrical, and program design.
  • Support simulation, implementation, and testing of new work and system upgrades.
  • Create necessary documentation for maintenance and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Drive research and development of new technologies and standards to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Maintain knowledge of TURBOCAM manufacturing and automation capabilities.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering or related discipline (Mechanical, Industrial, Robotics, or Systems Integration Engineering).
  • Experience in manufacturing automation, programming Logic Controllers (PLC), and troubleshooting control system issues preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • High level of mechanical and electronic aptitude and proficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Good interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. safely and frequently.
  • Must have sufficient range of motion for climbing stairs, walking, standing, stooping, and crouching for extended periods.
