As an Automation Engineer at Coherent Corp., you will play a pivotal role in the design and development of complex assembly stations that are essential for the precise and repeatable placement of components, active alignment, and metrology of laser beam quality. Your responsibilities will include specifying robotic manipulators, end effectors, cameras, sensors, and optics to create efficient assembly processes. You will also be tasked with developing software applications that facilitate the assembly and alignment of laser systems, ensuring that all prototypes undergo thorough validation testing to meet project milestones. In addition to building prototypes, you will be responsible for transferring new assembly stations and processes to manufacturing, which requires a keen understanding of both the technical and operational aspects of the role. You will create dedicated stations for testing and calibrating lasers and sensing equipment, as well as develop software applications to calibrate and test laser devices and measurement systems. Your role will also involve developing applications to collect and store critical data in a database, ensuring that all project assignments are delivered on schedule within a multi-project environment.
