About the position

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the successful completion of projects that are broad in nature. This role involves defining the project scope, setting clear goals, and effectively communicating the project details to all affected parties. The engineer will design, implement, and optimize manufacturing systems and equipment to meet production goals and quality standards. This position requires a blend of technical expertise and project management skills to ensure that all engineering initiatives align with the company's objectives and operational needs. In this hybrid role, the Automation Engineer will spend some days on-site in Omaha, Nebraska, and other days working remotely. The work environment is primarily on the corporate engineering side, allowing for flexibility in work arrangements, especially during design work. The facility is a large manufacturing space, nearly 500,000 square feet, focused on sheet metal fabrication to produce shelving units for major retailers like Walmart and Target. The building, while spacious, is older and can be noisy due to the ongoing fabrication and manufacturing processes. Office spaces are strategically located at the top of the manufacturing floor to facilitate easy access to production lines and meeting areas. Actalent, the company behind this position, is a global leader in engineering and sciences services and talent solutions. They assist visionary companies in advancing their engineering and science initiatives by providing access to specialized experts who drive scale, innovation, and speed to market. With a network of nearly 30,000 consultants and over 4,500 clients across the U.S., Canada, Asia, and Europe, Actalent serves many Fortune 500 companies.
