About the position

Cintas is seeking an Automation Engineer to assist Group Vice President(s), location management teams, and Corporate Quality and Engineering in overseeing long-range capacity planning for assigned locations. In this role, you will assume the responsibilities of Technical and Reliability Leader, directing the execution of Reliability Initiatives within the assigned locations. You will stay abreast of new technical and equipment developments, developing innovative ideas to improve quality, cost, productivity, housekeeping, safety, and environmental compliance. Additionally, you will take the lead in project management for new building projects, renovations, new branches, and expansions. As a Reliability Engineer, you will communicate with executives, management, and operations to implement plans and recommendations through regular monthly reports and verbal meetings. You will participate in equipment and building improvement projects from justification through installation and startup. Investigating new technology to enhance the function and productivity of locations will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also be involved in purchasing equipment, maintaining relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers, and monitoring their performance. Furthermore, you will recommend methods for improving process flow, utility consumption, reorganizing workflow, and relocating workstations and equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Group Vice President(s) and location management teams in long-range capacity planning.
  • Direct execution of Reliability Initiatives within assigned locations.
  • Communicate with executives and management to implement plans and recommendations.
  • Participate in equipment/building improvement projects from justification through installation and startup.
  • Investigate new technology to improve function and productivity of locations.
  • Purchase equipment and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and recommend improvements for process flow and utility consumption.

Requirements

  • Technical or Engineering-related Bachelor's Degree or minimum 7 years of experience in reliability or as an engineering technician or minimum 5 years of experience in Cintas operations environment.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant computer software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
  • Experience with AutoCAD.
  • Ability to travel up to 60% within assigned region.
  • Strong communication skills.
