About the position

This newly created opportunity for a Manufacturing and Robotics Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development, engineering, and implementation of Automation projects and systems to optimize manufacturing processes and mitigate labor requirements. This role reports to our Flavors Group Director of Operations and Engineering. In this position, you will be designing and implementing industrial automation systems, including robotics, to improve efficiency and productivity. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and develop solutions. Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for automation projects will be a key part of your responsibilities. You will also be programming and configuring PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for automated processes, troubleshooting and resolving issues with automation systems, and ensuring regular maintenance and upgrades of these systems to ensure optimal performance. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures for automated processes, training and providing technical support to operators and maintenance personnel on automation systems, and monitoring and analyzing data from automation systems to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing industrial automation systems including robotics to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and develop solutions.
  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for automation projects.
  • Programming and configuring PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and HMIs (Human Machine Interfaces) for automated processes.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with automation systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Ensuring the conduct of regular maintenance and upgrades of automation systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Developing and implementing safety protocols and procedures for automated processes.
  • Training and providing technical support to operators and maintenance personnel on automation systems.
  • Monitoring and analyzing data from automation systems to identify areas for improvement and optimize performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering discipline preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial automation systems and technologies.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as PLC, SCADA, and HMI.
  • Experience in designing and implementing automation solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of plant controls and instrumentation (integration).
  • 5-7+ years of experience.
