About the position

The Automation Engineer role at TEKsystems involves developing and overseeing the implementation of functional and non-functional requirements for Compute and Storage products and services. This position requires collaboration with architects and engineers to drive modern strategies and enhance DevOps capabilities, focusing on CI/CD pipeline technology and engineering discipline. The role emphasizes technical innovation, security practices, and the development of standards for complex technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and refine the Platform Architecture for Compute and Storage products.
• Engage and influence architects and engineers to incorporate modern strategies.
• Participate in the creation and implementation of a technology framework for DevOps and CI/CD.
• Provide technical expertise to application development teams and operations teams.
• Act as a technical innovator and strategic thought leader for CI/CD pipeline technology.
• Review and analyze solutions for security and secure coding practices.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs using Agile practices.
• Maintain knowledge in areas of SRE like Observability, Automation, and Reliability.
• Act as a key transformation agent to advance the team's DevOps capabilities.
• Develop standards and best practices for engineering complex technology solutions.
• Collaborate with peers and managers for design and code reviews.
• Evaluate new products and re-evaluate existing capabilities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent.
• 2+ years of experience with a Cloud Management Platform such as VMWare Aria suite.
• 4+ years of experience with scripting and development using Shell, Perl, Python, or PowerShell.
• 4+ years of formal development experience with Java, C#, or GoLang.
• 2+ years of experience with infrastructure automation platforms like Ansible or Terraform.
• 2+ years of experience with GitHub and Jenkins integrations.
• 2+ years of experience with complex application solution design and mentoring teams.
• 2+ years of experience working across multiple technology domains.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements related to Distributed Infrastructure management.
• 2+ years of experience with infrastructure engineering and platform management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with business process engineering and optimization.
• Experience with designing complex risk management capabilities.
