About the position

In this role, you will troubleshoot, modify, upgrade, and participate in the development of new systems or improvements to operations. This includes working with pneumatic, hydraulic, robots, servos, PLCs, Vision Systems, Safety Interlocks, and more. You will collaborate with the Automation Supervisor and team, along with SME leaders and Product Engineering counterparts, to design or improve current systems. This involves identifying triggers for change, documenting standards for criteria, and establishing approval processes to reduce long-term complexities that drive costs and improve the bottom line through lessons learned, managing spare parts, and streamlining problem-solving processes.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the automation capabilities of the facility.
  • Upgrade or deactivate existing automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot systems to identify and resolve issues within the facility.
  • Work with and/or train key counterparts on how to troubleshoot the system and work on improvements.
  • Manage the modifications or installation of equipment and processes.
  • Collaborate with counterparts to coordinate and control changes to support product standardization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
  • Proficient in programming languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Plastic Industry experience.
  • Experience using AutoCad, Solid Works.
