Kforce has a client that is seeking an Automation Engineer in Redmond, WA. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about gaming and have a strong interest in automating software processes and workflows. We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Automation Engineer who enjoys leading and mentoring other engineers while utilizing technology to enhance efficiency. In this role, you will leverage your technical expertise and understanding of gaming systems to develop automation systems that ensure the flawless execution of our client's gaming titles. As an Automation Engineer, you will collaborate with feature developers to design and implement new automated technologies that cover critical paths, ensuring the delivery of products that resonate with customers. You will be responsible for building robust automation pipelines that improve code and product quality, while also adhering to software engineering best practices. Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor other engineers in automation practices.
  • Design and implement automation systems for gaming titles.
  • Collaborate with feature developers to create automated technology for critical paths.
  • Build and support robust automation pipelines to enhance code and product quality.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including design patterns and automated unit testing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, with a minimum of 5 years as an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test).
  • Extensive programming experience with C#, SQL, and scripting languages such as PowerShell.
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and supporting robust automation pipelines.
  • In-depth understanding of software engineering best practices, including design patterns, code reviews, and automated unit testing.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong passion for games and a drive to create amazing AAA game experiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional C++ experience.
  • Experience in designing and building complex testing frameworks and infrastructure.
  • Previous AAA gaming experience or experience in the game development industry.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) and DevOps methodologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based architectures, particularly with services like Azure.
  • Experience in front-end development for building intuitive user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of performance testing and security testing.
