We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to design and implement PLC-based automation control systems that incorporate motion control, advanced sensors, VFD drives, and actuators. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to support existing systems while performing Level 1 control system programming. The Automation Engineer will be responsible for completing complex assignments, interfacing with project teams, and conducting integrated system testing and simulations. In addition to the technical responsibilities, the role involves on-site commissioning and training as required. The Automation Engineer will also be tasked with designing and executing automation solutions for a variety of metallurgy equipment, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. This position is fully on-site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and requires a commitment to working five days a week, with travel expectations of 25-30% primarily within the United States, and potentially to Mexico, although this is unlikely. Travel may involve extended periods of continuous on-site work, typically lasting 2-3 weeks, followed by intervals with no travel.
