About the position
The Automation Engineering Intern position at Amphenol Communications Solutions is designed for students pursuing degrees in Mechanical, Industrial, or Automation Engineering. This internship offers hands-on experience in supporting the Automation Engineering group, focusing on tooling and automation for high-speed electrical connectors. Interns will engage in various tasks including writing scope of work documents, analyzing testing results, and collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing personnel to develop prototypes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in writing scope of work documents
- Design, process, and analyze testing results
- Deploy tooling and automation
- Support product design efforts in tooling and automation
- Engage in machining and prototype design using engineering software
- Collaborate with internal and external suppliers and manufacturing personnel
- Support the development and automation of prototypes
- Interface with customers and other engineering disciplines during the design and manufacturing process
Requirements
- Currently enrolled as a sophomore or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Automation Engineering programs
- Experience with solid modeling tools such as Pro-E or Creo
- Familiarity with machining and automation is a plus
- Strong communication skills to interact with both technical and non-technical individuals
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
