About the position
The Automation Engineering Intern position at Vishay involves assisting in the development and design of automated machines and electro-mechanical systems. The intern will work closely with various engineering and manufacturing teams to support engineering activities, including design, fabrication, and troubleshooting of equipment used in manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Use SolidWorks to design or assist in the design of automated machines and electro-mechanical systems.
- Interface with Product & Process Engineering, Manufacturing Supervisors & Operators, and Equipment Maintenance Personnel to discuss requirements.
- Support engineering activities such as assessment of requirements, developing design concepts, and assisting in fabrication.
- Assemble prototype devices and troubleshoot electro-mechanical systems.
- Transfer developed equipment and tooling to manufacturing lines in Yankton and other facilities.
Requirements
- SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- Mechanical Engineering Student, sophomore or higher preferred.
- Experience or knowledge of typical types of fabrication, such as mill, lathe, and welding.
