About the position
The Automation Engineering Intern position at Voith U.S. Inc. offers Electrical Engineering students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Automation Group. This role involves working with CAD software, generating technical documentation, and developing software for machine control, all while collaborating with experienced engineers and project management staff. The position is flexible, allowing for full-time work during school breaks and part-time work while attending school.
Responsibilities
- Use CAD software to generate schematics and layout drawings.
- Generate Bills of Materials for machine assemblies.
- Perform technical calculations.
- Work with suppliers to specify components.
- Develop software for machine control.
- Read specifications regarding requirements of machinery.
- Follow instructions as provided by other Engineers, Designers, and Managers.
- Communicate work status with Engineering and Project Management staff.
- Interact with business system as required.
Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Willingness to learn.
- Enrolled in an ABET accredited university pursuing an Electrical Engineering or similar degree.
- Industrial experience is a plus.
- Experience with Rockwell components and software is a plus.
