About the position

Nemera is seeking an Automation Engineer to assist in the creation of automation requirements for programs in injection molding, assembly, and packaging. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, developing solutions for automating parts extraction from molding tools, and managing the installation and validation of automated systems. The Automation Engineer will work closely with Sales, Customers, Equipment Suppliers, Manufacturing, and Program Management to ensure effective communication and project execution. This position requires participation in various validation phases and continuous improvement projects, as well as providing training and support to production personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and report any unsafe working conditions.
  • Assist Automation Engineers in creation of automation requirements for programs in injection molding, assembly, and packaging.
  • Apply NPI process procedures and guidelines in managing procurement, design, build, acceptance, installation, and validation of automated systems.
  • Develop solutions for automating parts extraction from molding tools and secondary press-side operations.
  • Manage and participate in installation, wiring, commissioning and validation of Mold Robots, End of Arm Tools, and Press-side equipment.
  • Develop Mold Robots programs.
  • Participate and assist in executing protocols during DQ, FAT, IQ, OQ, SAT and PQ phases of validation of automated assembly equipment.
  • Interface with Sales, Customers, Equipment Suppliers, Manufacturing and Program Management.
  • Maintain effective communications internally and externally.
  • Participate in DFMA’s, FMEA’s, and DOE’s.
  • Participate in Lean and continuous improvement projects.
  • Prepare all the necessary SOP’s required in production to operate and maintain newly installed equipment.
  • Provide training to Manufacturing on proper operation and maintenance of newly installed equipment.
  • Provide ongoing support to production personnel during ramp-up phase.
  • Work under the direction of Lead Automation Engineer.
  • Comply with all company policies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years experience in an Automation Engineering position or similar in manufacturing environment.
  • Associates Degree strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of machine design and CAD software.
  • Knowledge of modern machine controls.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with technologies such as Ultrasonic welding, leak testing, and machine vision.
  • Experience with pneumatics, cam operated systems, servo motors, and robotics.
  • Experience in assembly, testing and packaging of medical and pharmaceutical devices.

Benefits

  • $35.00 - $45.00 USD Hourly compensation range.
