About the position
As a Laboratory Informatics Specialist at Siemens Healthineers, you will play a crucial role in providing on-site support for our automation and middleware solutions dedicated to a specific MegaLab customer account. This position requires you to engage directly with customers, including Laboratory Managers, Supervisors, and IT Administrators, ensuring that our systems are configured and functioning optimally to meet their needs. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, from pre-installation and installation support to training and troubleshooting, ensuring that our middleware and automation products are seamlessly integrated into the customer’s laboratory environment. You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of system configuration, which includes pre-installation assessments, installation of software and hardware, and post-implementation support. This role requires you to work closely with on-site Siemens Healthineers management and staff across various shifts, responding to complex system issues and providing solutions in real-time. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel will be essential as you navigate the challenges of laboratory informatics. In addition to technical skills, you will need to demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to customer service. You will be expected to perform verification and acceptance testing, ensure compliance with Siemens quality and regulatory policies, and maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Assist in meeting business objectives
- Pre-installation and installation support

- Customer specific workflow decisions that will determine system configuration
- Implementation activities including software installation
- Network setup

- Performing verification and acceptance testing

- Post-implementation support activities (on-site and remote)
- Follows the Siemens Diagnostics escalation process
- Perform software upgrades
- Attending meetings/conference calls
- Complying with Siemens quality/regulatory policy
- Able to independently solve problems and troubleshoot to resolve software malfunctions
- Responds positively and appropriately to challenge with minimal assistance
- Seeks guidance from appropriate personnel if needed
- Understands the implication of change, adapts quickly and adjusts appropriately
- Develops a technical support network within Siemens to achieve results
Requirements
- BS in Computing, Information Technology, or Engineering
- Experience in Healthcare IT, security, and data privacy
- Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including BIOS, logical ports, and operating systems
- Understanding of physical and logical network concepts, including MAC addressing, IP addressing, and network infrastructure
- Familiarity with remote access technologies and security concepts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Professional attitude and ability to work in a diverse corporate setting
Nice-to-haves
- Industry certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+, MCP, Healthcare IT Technician
- Experience with cloud technologies like SaaS, DaaS, IaaS
- Business skills including project management and financial analysis
- Laboratory experience such as MT or MLT
