About the position

The Automation Mechanical Technician at DreamFields is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting automated machinery and systems within the manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all equipment functions optimally while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols. The technician will collaborate with senior staff to resolve mechanical issues and assist in the development of preventative maintenance procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities.
  • Ensure quality standards are always met.
  • Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of automated systems according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and quality checks on automated systems to uphold standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational/Trade training or an Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field, is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in automation and mechanical systems required.
  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven systems with ladder logic.
  • Proficiency in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, especially in ensuring quality standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members.
  • Familiarity with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and automation troubleshooting preferred.
