About the position

The Automation Mechanical Technician at DreamFields plays a crucial role in ensuring the functionality and efficiency of automated machinery and systems within the facilities and maintenance department. This position involves inspecting, calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining various electrical and mechanical equipment, while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols. The technician will collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to resolve mechanical issues and assist in the development of preventative maintenance procedures, contributing to the overall operational excellence of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect automated machinery, equipment, and systems to identify issues and ensure functionality.
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform maintenance on various types of electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Prioritize and self-schedule maintenance work around production activities.
  • Ensure quality standards are always met.
  • Assist in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of automated systems according to specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians and engineers to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and quality checks on automated systems to uphold standards.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance procedures.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for equipment and supplies.
  • Adhere to cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices), safety standards and policies to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of automation systems, including process control, instrumentation, and servo-driven systems with ladder logic.
  • Proficiency in calibrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks effectively around production activities.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with proficiency in using hand and power tools for maintenance and repairs.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail, especially in ensuring quality standards.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting issues and collaborating with team members.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices) and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and processes in automation and mechanical systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Vocational/Trade training or an Associate's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with preventative maintenance programs and automation troubleshooting.
