About the position

The Automation & Operations Technology Engineer at Danone will be responsible for overseeing automation systems and operational technology strategies at the Dallas and Fort Worth plants. This role involves maximizing the availability of industrial automation systems, managing cybersecurity measures, and acting as a liaison between plant operations and the corporate automation team. The engineer will lead automation improvement projects, troubleshoot complex control system issues, and ensure compliance with cybersecurity policies.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce Danone OT cybersecurity policies and standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex plant control system issues.
  • Report high priority incidents related to cybersecurity to relevant directors.
  • Manage project related to industrial networking and application upgrades.
  • Conduct industrial automation asset management using Claroty and SolarWinds.
  • Manage vendor access for PLC and SCADA applications.
  • Participate in Cybersecurity audits and maintain audit reports.
  • Improve Cybersecurity KPI and report to management.
  • Enhance industrial automation systems continuously.
  • Maintain and update industrial automation architecture drawings.
  • Manage industrial automation hardware and software life cycle.
  • Organize windows patch installations in industrial automation servers.
  • Develop master plans for industrial networking and applications roadmap.
  • Share knowledge through Danone North America networking.
  • Enforce automation standards and specifications for plant initiatives.
  • Facilitate meetings for system performance and reliability improvements.
  • Provide support for Jacksonville facility and occasional travel for Dubois PA and Bridgeton NJ plants.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in automation and operations technologies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing related to automation and operations technologies or 10 years in food manufacturing related to information systems and automation technologies.
  • Experience in plant-wide automation network design.
  • Proficiency in Allen Bradley Rockwell PLC programming.
  • Knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols (OPC-UA, EthernetIP, Modbus TCP, IO Link, AS-i).
  • Basic electrical knowledge and comfort with control systems (24VDC, 120VAC, 480VAC).
  • Familiarity with SCADA or HMI systems such as Ignition, Wonderware, Factory Talk View SEME.
  • Experience with programming languages and SQL programming is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and Microsoft server environments.
  • Self-directed and able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in IT and OT network segregation using Purdue model.
  • Fast learner and adaptable to change.
