About the position

As an Automation Pharmacy Technician IV at Omnicell, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient dispensing of sterile compounded medications using advanced automated IV equipment. This position is critical to maintaining the high standards of pharmacy services that Omnicell is known for. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining the equipment, ensuring that it operates smoothly and efficiently. This includes performing regular cleaning and maintenance tasks, troubleshooting any issues that arise, and ensuring that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Your role will also involve managing medication inventories, ensuring that optimal levels are maintained, and communicating effectively with both pharmacy operations managers and customers to build strong relationships and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities

  • Perform IV automation tasks in an aseptic, error-free manner, consistent with standard operating procedures.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly IV automation equipment cleaning and maintenance.
  • Follow Safe Handling of Hazardous Drugs procedures when handling medications.
  • Identify and order medications to ensure optimal inventory levels.
  • Monitor and order consumable supplies required for equipment operation.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and standard maintenance of IV automation equipment, reporting unresolved issues to the IV TAC.
  • Complete fingertip and media fill sampling.
  • Maintain high communication levels with pharmacy operations manager and customers for proactive problem identification and resolution.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction by aligning the Pharmacy Services Program to provide quality, professionalism, and responsiveness.
  • Conduct training and ensure compliance with all Pharmacy Services procedures and policies.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility for work-related expenses and adhere to corporate card procedures.
  • Comply with reasonable procedures, policies, and guidelines established by the Customer facility.
  • Maintain national certification and all state-required credentialing.
  • Act as a resource or SME for Omnicell team members, providing training and assistance to ensure optimal workflow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current non-expired PTCB Certification or via NHA a CPHT / EXCPT.
  • Current State Pharmacy Technician Registration / License for the State of FL (if required/applicable).
  • Working knowledge of IV compounding.

Nice-to-haves

  • One year of IV Compounding experience.
  • Proficient in the use of PPE and hand hygiene techniques.
  • Working knowledge of sterile environment requirements.
  • Completed an accredited Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
  • 2 years previous experience in hospital pharmacy automation.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills with automation devices.
  • Automation implementation experience.
