About the position

The Automation QA Tester at Virtusa is responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of software applications through automated testing. This role requires a strong background in software testing, particularly in automation, and proficiency in Java and various testing frameworks. The position emphasizes collaboration within cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences and maintain high standards of software quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Java and testing frameworks like Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Conduct defect triage, code analysis, and diagnose defects independently.
• Create, execute, and maintain test cases and test plans for software applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Utilize performance testing tools to assess application performance and identify bottlenecks.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on testability and quality of code.
• Continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and tools relevant to testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing with a focus on automation.
• Proficiency in Java programming language.
• Experience with automation frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, and JUnit.
• Strong understanding of defect triage processes and ability to resolve defects independently.
• Proficiency in bug identification, reporting, tracking, and test case creation.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Angular/TypeScript, Onestack, Boq, Pod, or protobuf.
• Knowledge of performance testing tools like JMeter and LoadRunner.
• Familiarity with bug tracking systems like Jira and test case management tools.
