About the position

The Automation Robotics Engineer at Lear Corporation will lead and manage automation projects, focusing on innovation and efficiency improvements across North America. This role involves developing automation cells, providing training and ongoing support, and acting as a subject matter expert in robotic integration and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement automation cells across North America.
  • Drive standards and innovation in automation projects.
  • Develop concepts and aid in mechanical-electrical design.
  • Install and provide ongoing support for robot cells.
  • Project lead for other integrators as a subject matter expert.
  • Manage small projects involving Fanuc and UR integrations.
  • Conduct safety upgrades on existing equipment and retrofits.
  • Analyze information to choose the best solutions and solve problems.
  • Develop performance indicators to increase reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Mentor and train plant controls engineers and support production as needed.
  • Communicate across cross-functional groups and support improvement projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Software Engineering.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with Fanuc and UR robotic integration, programming, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Proficient in Fanuc robotics systems and knowledgeable in Allen Bradley PLC systems.
  • Great electrical/mechanical troubleshooting abilities.
  • Experience in creating and modifying HMI projects.
  • Ability to read and follow electrical prints for troubleshooting.

Nice-to-haves

  • Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV) experience.
  • Vision experience to guide robots and offsets.
