About the position

Schaedler Yesco Distribution, a proudly local, independent, family and employee-owned electrical distributor, is now hiring for an Automation Services Technician. Now in our 100th year of business, we pride ourselves on our best-in-class culture, amazing working environment, and customer-focused approach to all we do. The Automation Services Technician is responsible for providing on-site services that support process and discrete manufacturers' operations. The services will include but are not limited to Rockwell Authorized Services Provider services, Installed Base Evaluation, VFD Start-up services, Lock Out Tag Out audits, and Arc Flash audits. Additionally, the technician will serve as an instructor for various Schaedler Yesco technical training classes.

Responsibilities

  • Execute documented procedures on-site at customer facilities for various SYD Automation services.
  • Deliver SYD Automation training content to customers both at SYD and customer facilities.
  • Demonstrate core competency around Rockwell Automation products and associated manufacturing technology.
  • Act as representative of Schaedler Yesco while performing services on mission critical customer equipment and applications.
  • Develop relationships with key customer stakeholders.
  • Present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Articulate the value of services offerings to customers during the lifecycle of the engagement.
  • Work with customers to determine customer problems, needs and goals thereby identifying opportunities for product and services that may be outside of the scope of your original engagement.
  • Document work activities in appropriate, professional report format.
  • Assist in the clarification and resolution of customer issues.

Requirements

  • Associate of Science Degree in Engineering or Technology, or equivalent technological training (e.g. technological training received while serving in the military, or equivalent industry training).
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology or related technology driven degree.
  • +2 years hands-on experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Exposure to industrial Lockout Tag out standards and best practices.
  • Exposure to industrial Arc Flash standards and best practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of safe work practices in an industrial environment including but not limited to utilization of personal protective equipment as required.
  • Exposure to Industrial Control Systems including PLC, HMI/SCADA, plant historian, motor control, motion control, etc. technology and applications (Rockwell or comparable platforms).
