About the position

As an Automation Engineer, your role will encompass designing, developing, prototyping, and commissioning new products used in the manufacturing of transceivers. You will collaborate with mechanical and process engineers to develop equipment control and translate system specifications and requirements into verification strategies and performance testing. Leading a team of technicians on machine development and building activities, you will also work closely with vendors to benchmark and utilize cutting-edge automation technology. This position requires a strong foundation in programming and testing equipment, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will be responsible for ensuring that all automation processes meet the required specifications and performance standards, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop automation systems for manufacturing transceivers.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and process engineers to develop equipment control.
  • Translate system specifications and requirements into verification strategies.
  • Lead a team of technicians in machine development and building activities.
  • Work closely with vendors to benchmark and utilize cutting-edge automation technology.
  • Program equipment for assembly and instrumentation testing.
  • Conduct performance testing and verification of automation systems.

Requirements

  • Proficient in LabView for programming equipment.
  • Experience or willingness to learn Python for automation tasks.
