About the position
The Automation Technician is responsible for maintaining, setting up, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with automated manufacturing equipment to improve uptime and quality. This role involves providing technical support, assisting with training, and ensuring compliance with company standards and safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, setup, troubleshoot, and resolve issues with automated manufacturing equipment.
- Assist with training operators and supervisors on equipment usage to reduce downtime and improve quality.
- Provide mechanical and electrical technical support for manufacturing equipment and assist with the setup of new equipment.
- Communicate with machine operators to troubleshoot issues and address their concerns.
- Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, manuals, and written instructions to assist in troubleshooting issues.
- Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) and calibrations of existing equipment.
- Utilize the facilities work order system to efficiently resolve and document issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts, corrective action formulation, and root-cause investigation when necessary.
- Assist with performing system validations and trials.
Requirements
- At least three (3) years of practical mechanical and/or electrical experience.
- Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment in a production setting is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
- Background in Maintenance or Industrial Technology, or a related field.
