About the position

The Automation Technician I is a full-time role responsible for managing and performing plant maintenance programs under the direction of the Plant Manager. This position focuses on ensuring employee health and safety, product safety, and environmental protection while enhancing product quality and plant performance. The technician will work with automated equipment, troubleshoot issues, and advocate for improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant pneumatics, hydraulics, and electric systems including PLC systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical failures in manufacturing equipment such as conveyors and pallet handling machines.
• Conduct minor unscheduled maintenance and repair on trucking equipment like forklifts.
• Document performance and processes accurately and timely as required by leadership.
• Schedule, execute, and document work orders within the CMMS.
• Participate in machine process and design improvement forums.
• Provide coaching on the use and repair of industrial production equipment.
• Engage in health and safety programs and training.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in industrial machine maintenance.
• Ability to read and use mechanical and electrical schematics for troubleshooting.
• Experience with electrical systems including motors, PLCs, and field sensors.
• Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
