About the position

The Automation Technician will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of purified water systems within a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This role requires a combination of technical skills, including PLC programming and automation technologies, to ensure compliance with GMP standards and to support the maintenance team in troubleshooting and executing maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform automated equipment troubleshooting and maintenance on purified water systems.
  • Execute planned maintenance and corrective work orders.
  • Support equipment, utilities, and process troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Manage multiple small projects related to new equipment, upgrades, and facility modifications.
  • Update technical documents, SOPs, and change controls.
  • Provide ongoing support to maintenance staff to solve complex problems and coach on failure modes.
  • Implement safe work practices and process controls to ensure safe operation of equipment and facility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 3 years' experience or Associate Degree with 6 years' experience in pharmaceutical or related manufacturing facility.
  • 1-3 years of experience in purified water systems operation and maintenance.
  • Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for maintenance activities tracking.
  • PLC experience or certification is a plus.
  • GMP compliance-related documentation experience is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with chillers.
